Hi everyone!
This is my first blog about the life of IMT(In Ministry Training). It's a program with Victory Bible Institute. I still go to VBI full time, only now, after school every day, I'm part of IMT. Just to let you know a little bit of what it's about, we have an hour for lunch after school every day. Then we have a meeting, and after the meetings, we do different outreaches each day of the week. Some days we do Mobile Kids Club with Victory, or we go to orphanages, college ministry, witnessing, tutoring at the Dream Center, etc..On the weekends, we take turns traveling and ministering and doing outreach at different churches and their communities. Those of us that stay for that weekend will do either Bus Ministry or Dream center outreach/Adopt a block. We pick up trash, mow people's yards and just serve however needed. We will also be going out of country a few times during this school year. We have seen God do amazing things and continue to expect Him to move as we reach out to hurting people everywhere with His love.
God called me to this program about 2 weeks after school started back up again. I fought it, but in the end, obedience won :) I know I'm in the right place! I wasn't sure how it was going to work because I didn't have any money and joining the program involved fees and moving into VBI housing as well. So I told God if this is what He wanted me to do, He was going to have to provide. The IMT program costs $1,400. Well, a few days after I submitted to what God was asking me to do, someone came in and anonymously paid $1000 of that fee. Praise God! Also in faith, I had put in my 30-day notice at my apartment, and started believing God for $525 to move into housing. When the 30 days was up, I was expecting a miracle, and found out I was homeless...lol. I would be lying if I said I didn't get discouraged. I did for a few hours, but just decided that wasn't doing any good. So I kept believing God. I was offered a place to stay for a few days. And while I was there, I found out that someone went into housing and paid my first months rent! So all I needed was the deposit. Then the next day, this couple that came to stay for a night with the people I was staying with, left a check for $160! So, I was still $90 short, but able to move into housing! Hallelujah!!! God is so faithful!
One part of the program is that we cannot have jobs because it is full time ministry. I have been so blessed to be involved in so many awesome things so far and there is so much more to come. I am truly learning what it means to serve. It's very stretching and difficult at times. However, God is giving me the grace and strength to do it with joy! I will be writing a blog at least once a month to give updates on all the awesome things that God is doing. It will be at the end of each month.
Here are some things I'm believing for right now:
Monthly rent of $275 (once we move into new housing, which should be in a month, it will be only $250)
Finances for healthy groceries, toiletries, to go home for Thanksgiving, and miscellaneous items
The other $90 for housing deposit and the other $400 for IMT program fees
Winter clothing
VBI Tuition
